University of South Carolina Students Assist with Connected Community Engagement Program Assessments

The University of South Carolina ITEC 545 Telecommunications class is taking on assisting Richland & Lexington counties with gathering information for their Connected assessments. As a class project, five 3-person teams of students will work with Community Champions Janet Claggett of Richland County and Stephany Snowden of Lexington County to assist in gathering information on broadband adoption and use for their assessments. Connect South Carolina Releases 2014 Business Survey Results

    New research released by Connect South Carolina in conjunction with Wednesday’s South Carolina Broadband Advisory Council meeting shows that 78% of South Carolina businesses use broadband; 16,000 Internet-connected businesses want more bandwidth, but 37% cannot get it; and that online sales revenues are more than $30 billion for state businesses.
